General Medical Consultations
Doctors at The Grange Family Medical Centre are able to assist you with the management of all your general medical needs.
In April 2017 our practice underwent AGPAL Accreditation, which has ensured we maintain a high level medical of care. The accreditation process is a voluntary scheme and we intend on continuing with future accreditation to ensure ensure the provision of top quality general practice medical services to you.
Family Planning – contraception, IUDs, pregnancy testing
The GPs at The Grange Family Medical centre are experienced and willing to assist with your family planning.
They will discuss your present and future family needs, apart from advising on prescription medications & devices. Our Doctors are trained & experienced at inserting Implanon.
Dr Debra King is able to insert and removal your IUD (Mirena). An initial appointment with Dr Debra King is required to discuss the procedure. A follow up consultation will be made that is suitable.
Pregnancy Care
The Doctors at our centre are very experienced in antenatal care and we offer shared care with the Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
Shared antenatal care allows you to share the care of your pregnancy between the hospital and your own GP. The Doctors can answer any questions you may have pre pregnancy, during the pregnancy and after the pregnancy.
Postnatal Care
After the delivery of your baby we offer medical care for both yourself and your newborn baby.
Women’s Health
The Doctors & the Practice Nurse at The Grange Family Medical Centre offers women’s health checks, and we are dedicated to managing health issues thoroughly in a comfortable setting.
Consultations may cover family planning, cervical screening tests, breast examinations and STI screening.
Cervical Screening Tests
All women who have been sexually active in their lifetime need to have regular cervical screening tests. An appointment can be made with your GP or the Practice Nurse. Please advise reception when booking your appointment as you may require extra time.
Breast Checks
It’s a great idea at the time of your routine Cervical Screening Test to ask your Doctor to have a Breast Examination.
Travel Medicine
We understand how exciting travel can be and how important it is that you are well prepared and immunised.
The Doctors will provide comprehensive medical travel consultations and can advise you of vaccinations that are required for your chosen destination.
It is advised that you make your appointments with your GP in advance as vaccines are not effective immediately.
We are also a Yellow Fever Accredited Practice
Men’s Health
Men face a range of Health issues that they often do not want to talk about. Blood pressure & cholesterol levels, diabetes, prostate & sexual health problems.
The Doctors at our clinic are non-judgemental and very approachable so you can feel confident talking to them about any health issue you may have.
We can provide advice and medical care tailored to your specific needs.
Work Cover
The work cover scheme was introduced by the NSW government to ensure the health & safety of employees. Under work cover all employers need to comply with occupational health and safety, injury management and workers compensation.
If you sustain work related injury you need to notify your employer and make an appointment to see your Doctor for advice and a work cover certificate.
All patients are responsible for the costs associated with their workcover consultation.
Your insurance company will provide you with a claim number & case manager, you will need to pass this information onto your GP
Skin Cancers
The Doctors at The Grange Family Medical Centre are experienced in the detection and treatment of skin cancers.
It can be difficult to know whether something on your skin is a harmless mole, a sun spot or a sign of cancer.
If you are concerned at any stage about any changes in your skin, make an appointment to have your skin checked today!

Chronic Disease Care Plans
People with a chronic medical condition may be able to get Medicare Benefits to cover allied health services such as physiotherapy, dietetics & podiatry that may help their chronic medical conditions. Anyone with a chronic or terminal medical condition can have a GP Management Plan.
This plan:
• Identifies your health care needs
• Sets out the services to be provided by your GP & other health professionals
• Lists the actions you may need to take
A Team Care Arrangement may also be put into place for you. This lets your doctor work with, and refers you to at least two other health professionals who will provide treatment to you.
Sports medicine
Diagnosis and management of sports and joint injuries.
Childhood Vaccinations
In addition to our GP services patients can access a broad range of services within the Grange complex including medical specialists, allied health, Radiology & Pathology.
